Description

Here is a rare opportunity to purchase the genuine FIRST EDITION / ORIGINAL 1977 PRINTING of 96 Piccadillies, the legendary artist’s book by Swiss avant-garde master Dieter Roth.

Published as Volume 36 of his Collected Works (Gesammelte Werke), this historical work was printed only once in 1977 by the iconic Edition Hansjörg Mayer (Stuttgart / London). It has never been reprinted or reissued.

✨ About the artwork:
For a decade, Roth obsessively and brilliantly altered a standard postcard of London’s Piccadilly Circus using paint, collage, and ink. The book was designed as a democratic, interactive piece of art: all pages are originally micro-perforated so they can be detached and used.

💎 A Rare “Time-Capsule” Condition (Paperback edition):
While most copies on the market today are cracked, loose, or missing pages, this specific copy is an absolute survivor:
• 100% Intact & Complete: Every single page is tightly bound. No cards have ever been folded, torn, or detached. Perforations are flawless.
• Pristine Inside: Pages are clean, bright, and crisp.
• Flawless & Solid Spine: Completely straight, uncracked, and unblemished (an exceptionally rare sight for this 1977 softcover!).
• Very minor, natural vintage shelf wear on the outer covers, consistent with its 50-year age.
